Age of the Gods: Amazon Wild shows just how far Playtech's long running jackpot series has moved on from games such as King of Olympus. Released in December 2025, this instalment leaves the marble temples of Ancient Greece behind and heads into the jungle, where an Amazon warrior takes centre stage. Multiple current game databases place its release in December 2025.
The big difference is that Amazon Wild doesn't rely on a conventional Free Spins round for its main attraction. Instead, fully stacked Amazon Wilds trigger Respins and begin moving across the reels. As they travel, they can collect Power Ups that add multipliers, additional Wilds and other enhancements. This makes the feature feel much more connected to what's happening on the actual grid than the comparatively simple bonus structure found in some of the older Age of the Gods titles.
There's a nice sense of anticipation when a stacked Amazon lands because its starting position immediately matters. Triggering towards the right hand side gives the Wild further to travel and therefore more opportunities for the feature to develop. Power Ups sitting above its path then become the next thing to watch, with the potential to turn a fairly ordinary Respin sequence into something considerably more interesting.
The Age of the Gods Progressive Jackpot remains part of proceedings, so Playtech hasn't forgotten what originally made this series famous. The difference is that Amazon Wild has enough gameplay of its own that the jackpot no longer feels responsible for providing nearly all of the excitement.
Visually, it's also a substantial step forward from the older generation. The jungle setting is detailed and atmospheric, the Amazon warrior has a strong presence on the reels and the movement of the stacked Wild gives the game considerably more life. It still has that unmistakably glossy Playtech appearance, but Zeus has finally been given the night off.
Landing a fully stacked Amazon Wild triggers the Amazon Wild Respins. The Wild remains stacked and moves one reel to the left following each Respin, with the feature continuing until it eventually travels beyond reel one.
It's a strong central mechanic because you can immediately understand how much opportunity you've got. A Wild beginning further to the right has a longer journey ahead, while one appearing closer to reel one provides a shorter feature.
More importantly, you're not simply watching the Wild shuffle across the screen. Power Ups positioned above the reels can modify it as it travels, giving each step along the way another potential development.
The Multiplier Power Up increases the multiplier attached to the travelling Amazon Wild. Collecting successive Multiplier Power Ups can increase its value from 2x to 3x and eventually 5x.
This works particularly well with the Walking Wild mechanic because an enhanced Amazon can continue influencing wins as she travels across the reels. Getting the multiplier early in the sequence is naturally much more interesting than finding it just as she's preparing to disappear off the other side.
Sometimes even an Amazon warrior needs to arrive early for work.
The Extra Wild Power Up adds a random Wild symbol during subsequent Respins, with up to three of these enhancements capable of being collected.
This gives the main stacked Amazon some useful backup. Instead of relying entirely on one moving block of Wilds, additional positions can become Wild and help connect wins elsewhere across the grid.
It's a straightforward modifier, but one that becomes considerably more useful when combined with the Amazon's multiplier.
Another Power Up can effectively extend the Amazon's journey by sending the stacked Wild back towards the right hand side of the reels, providing additional Respins. Multiple sources describing the game identify this as one of the key enhancements available during the feature.
This is probably the Power Up you most want to see when the Amazon is approaching the end of her journey. Instead of disappearing from the grid, she's given another run across the reels.
It's essentially Playtech telling the Amazon that her shift isn't finished yet.
A further Power Up is saved for the final Respin and can introduce additional fully stacked Wilds onto random reels.
That gives the feature one last opportunity to produce something interesting just as the original Amazon reaches the end of her journey.
I like this because it creates a natural finale. Rather than the Walking Wild simply falling off reel one and proceedings immediately ending, there's the possibility of one final burst of activity.
Where permitted, Buy Feature provides direct access to the Amazon Wild Respins rather than requiring a stacked Amazon to trigger naturally. Current game listings confirm a purchasable feature is available in supported versions of the game.
As always, I'd treat this as an alternative route into the feature rather than a feature deserving additional credit by itself. Pressing a button and paying to get somewhere faster doesn't suddenly make the destination better.
Amazon Wild retains the Age of the Gods Progressive Jackpot, continuing one of the defining features of Playtech's wider series. Current sources identify four jackpot tiers attached to the game.
The jackpot naturally provides the headline prize potential, but importantly, Amazon Wild doesn't need it to carry the entire game. That's a significant improvement over some older Age of the Gods releases where the progressive prizes could feel considerably more exciting than the slot sitting underneath them.
There is conflicting RTP information across current operator and slot databases, which suggests different configurations may be circulating, so that's one statistic I'd verify from the actual version offered by each casino rather than hard coding from a third party source.
This is a considerably more engaging game than the older Age of the Gods titles we've looked at.
The Walking Wild gives Amazon Wild a strong central gameplay mechanic, but it's the Power Up system that really makes it work. You're watching where the Amazon starts, how far she has left to travel and what enhancements are sitting above her path.
That creates a proper sense of development during Respins. The feature can improve while you're playing it rather than simply providing a predetermined number of additional spins.
There's also enough happening outside the progressive jackpot that Amazon Wild would still have an identity if you removed the Age of the Gods branding entirely.
Playtech hasn't overloaded Amazon Wild with dozens of unrelated features. Instead, most of the important modifiers revolve around making the travelling Amazon more powerful.
Multipliers improve her value, additional Wilds increase coverage, Retriggers extend the journey and the final modifier can provide another burst of stacked Wild activity.
That makes the feature package feel coherent. You're essentially building up one increasingly powerful mechanic rather than trying to follow five different mini games.
The progressive jackpot then provides another substantial layer without interfering with the main gameplay.
This is a substantial improvement over the ageing presentation of King of Olympus.
The jungle environment provides plenty of depth, while the Amazon warrior is large, detailed and immediately recognisable as the game's central character. The Walking Wild mechanic also gives Playtech plenty of opportunity for animation because the character physically progresses across the reels rather than simply appearing as another static symbol.
Current reviews consistently describe the mobile presentation as sharp and polished, with the Wild animations remaining clear during Respins.
It's glossy Playtech rather than something artistically groundbreaking, but it's a modern, polished looking slot that gives the Age of the Gods series a much needed trip out of the museum.
Walking Wilds, Respins and multipliers have all been around for years, so Amazon Wild isn't inventing a completely new category of slot.
The Power Up system is what gives it more personality. Having enhancements positioned above the reels and collected as the Amazon travels beneath them makes the direction and position of the Wild genuinely relevant. The combination of multipliers, extra Wilds and extensions also means the same basic Respin feature can develop differently depending on what's collected.
Within the Age of the Gods series in particular, it feels considerably fresher than simply giving another Greek god a Free Spins multiplier.

Age of the Gods: Amazon Wild feels like Playtech finally giving one of its longest running slot series a proper modern workout.
The travelling Amazon Wild provides an easy to understand central mechanic, while Power Ups ensure there's considerably more to watch than simply waiting for her to walk across the reels. Multipliers, additional Wilds and extensions can all change how the feature develops, while the familiar Age of the Gods progressive jackpot remains waiting in the background.
It isn't revolutionary, but compared with the rather sleepy King of Olympus we reviewed earlier, Amazon Wild feels like the series has woken up, packed its bags and gone looking for an adventure.
