Cash Spree Pegasus II from Pragmatic Play takes flight with a fantasy theme built around the legendary winged horse Pegasus, with an appropriately lavish mix of temples, clouds, golden symbols and mythological styling. It certainly isn't a subtle looking slot, but then a flying horse soaring through an ancient fantasy world probably isn't the place for restraint.

That creates a nice sense of anticipation because the values you first see aren't necessarily the values you eventually end up with.
It's still very recognisably a modern Cash Collect slot, so anyone hoping Pegasus II has flown off into completely unexplored territory might be disappointed. What Pragmatic Play has done instead is take a familiar formula and add enough movement around the collection mechanic to make the journey a little more interesting.

This works particularly well with the core Cash Spree mechanic because it doesn't introduce a completely separate idea. Instead, it improves the thing you're already hoping to collect.
It also creates those useful moments where the grid can change character very quickly. A collection that initially looked rather ordinary can become considerably more appealing once a multiplier gets involved.
The Pegasus Upgrade feature improves Cash Symbol values sitting on the reels, creating another way of strengthening a potential collection.
Again, the important part is how naturally this fits with everything else. Pragmatic Play isn't asking you to suddenly understand another mini game. The objective remains straightforward throughout: get Cash Symbols onto the reels, make them worth more and then get them collected.
Simple enough, although Pegasus naturally makes you work for the good ones.

Cash Spree Pegasus II has the advantage of being very easy to understand. Money lands, Pegasus modifies it and ultimately you're hoping those values get collected. That gives the features a logical relationship and makes combinations more interesting than any individual modifier would be on its own.
Free Spins provide more opportunities for those mechanics to come together, although the overall feature set remains an evolution of a very established Cash Collect formula.
Pegasus gives Pragmatic Play plenty to work with visually and the game makes good use of its fantasy setting. Golden temples, clouds and the winged horse himself create a suitably grand environment without making the reels difficult to follow.
Pegasus naturally dominates proceedings whenever he appears, which also helps communicate when something important is happening.
The mythological theme isn't particularly unusual in slots, but the presentation is polished and colourful. If you're going to put a giant flying horse on the screen, you might as well give him a proper entrance.
This is where Cash Spree Pegasus II finds it harder to spread its wings.
Cash Symbols, Collectors, multipliers and value upgrades are extremely familiar mechanics, while the game is itself a sequel. Experienced slot players aren't going to encounter much here that requires them to relearn how a Cash Collect game works.

The best part is the way its different Pegasus features work towards the same goal. Cash Symbols can be improved, multiplied and eventually collected, giving promising spins the opportunity to develop rather than simply paying immediately.
The base game could do with a little more happening away from those features, and originality isn't its strongest suit. Still, the mechanics are easy to follow, the presentation is polished and Pegasus has enough tricks under his wings to make the sequel an entertaining ride.
