Star Walk is a 2026 release from Air Dice that takes a deliberately traditional fruit machine setup and gives it one genuinely distinctive mechanic: multiplier stars that literally walk across the reels. Released on 7 July 2026, it uses a 5x3 grid with 10 fixed paylines and offers maximum win potential of 4,000x the stake. Casino Guru, SlotCatalog, SlotsMate and Chipy all identify Air Dice as the developer and support the July 2026 release.
The reels themselves could hardly be more familiar. Sevens, bells, watermelons, strawberries, grapes, plums, oranges and pears provide the classic fruit machine foundation, with the Seven offering the strongest regular symbol payout. Air Dice has not tried to disguise what this is underneath; the interesting part is what happens when the stars begin appearing among all that fruit.
Multiplier Stars can land during ordinary play and contribute their individual values towards the total win multiplier. Rather than disappearing when the next spin begins, however, they move one reel to the right. New Stars can then enter from the left, allowing several values to remain visible at once and combine into an increasingly useful multiplier.
Free Spins give the mechanic more time to develop. Three or more Scatters can open the feature, while a separate Treasure Chest progression provides another route towards larger allocations of Free Spins. Depending on the trigger, the game can award 10, 25 or 50 Free Spins, with the walking Multiplier Stars remaining central to the action.
It is an interesting contrast. Star Walk looks like the sort of fruit machine your grandfather might recognise immediately, but the Stars wandering across the reels give it considerably more movement than the cherries and Sevens initially suggest.
Multiplier Stars are the mechanic that gives Star Walk its identity.
When Stars appear, their displayed values are added together to create the total multiplier applied to qualifying wins. They then move one reel to the right on each subsequent spin, while additional Stars can enter from the left.
I really like this because the multiplier is not simply generated and forgotten at the end of one spin. A useful Star entering on the left has several reels ahead of it, giving you time to hope another one joins the journey before the first eventually walks off the opposite side.
It also changes what you are watching. The fruit symbols may determine whether you have actually won, but once several Stars are moving across the screen, you are paying just as much attention to the multiplier that is travelling alongside them.
For a game called Star Walk, it is pleasing to discover the title is not merely there because somebody thought stars looked nice on the logo.
All visible Multiplier Star values are added together to determine the total multiplier. SlotsMate's hands on review describes the total multiplier beginning at 1x before the values of landed Stars are added, with one tested base game sequence reaching 17x.
The additive system works particularly well with the Walking mechanic because one Star does not need to do all the work. Several modest values can gradually become much more interesting if they remain on screen together.
That creates a nice sense of momentum. A multiplier that initially looks fairly ordinary can become considerably healthier if another Star enters before the existing ones disappear off the right hand side.
The Wild substitutes for the regular fruit symbols to help complete winning combinations across the game's 10 paylines. Star Walk's paytable confirms the Wild alongside the standard fruit and Seven symbols.
It is a conventional Wild, but it becomes more useful when a healthy Star multiplier is already travelling across the reels. At that point you are less interested in the Wild doing something spectacular itself and more interested in it helping produce a win for the multiplier to work on.
That is a sensible division of labour. The Stars provide the clever part while the Wild concentrates on making the paylines cooperate.
The Treasure Chest provides an alternative route into Free Spins, with accumulated progress capable of unlocking increasingly large Free Spins awards. The documented bonus allocations are 10, 25 and 50 Free Spins.
I like having another route towards the feature because it gives the base game something else to build towards beyond waiting for three Scatters on one fortunate spin.
More importantly, the larger allocations matter in a game built around travelling multipliers. Fifty spins gives the Stars considerably more time to arrive, move across the grid and overlap with one another than a brief five spin bonus ever could.
Landing three or more Scatter Symbols provides the direct route into Free Spins. SlotsMate confirms three Scatters as the standard trigger, while Air Dice's casino implementations document the varying 10, 25 and 50 spin feature sizes.
There is nothing unusual about the Scatter trigger itself, but it does not need to be. The interesting part begins once the Stars start travelling through the feature.
In this case, the Scatter simply opens the door and lets the Stars go for their walk.
Free Spins retain the Multiplier Star mechanic, allowing Stars to continue appearing and contributing towards the total multiplier during the bonus. Depending on the trigger route and feature level, the game can provide 10, 25 or 50 Free Spins.
This is where the mechanic gets the breathing room it needs.
During a normal spin sequence, a useful Star eventually walks off the grid and takes its value with it. Free Spins give you many more opportunities for new Stars to enter while others are still travelling, increasing the possibility of building a worthwhile combined multiplier.
I particularly like the potential 50 spin version for that reason. In a game based on Stars slowly walking across the reels, giving them a decent distance to travel makes considerably more sense than asking them to sprint.
Star Walk is a good example of one strong mechanic making an otherwise very simple slot considerably more interesting.
Without the Multiplier Stars, this would be an extremely traditional 10 payline fruit machine. The regular symbols do not offer much excitement by themselves and there is very little mechanical complexity hidden among the Sevens, bells and watermelons.
The Walking Multiplier changes that. Once Stars begin moving across the grid, consecutive spins feel connected because something useful from the previous result is still travelling through the game. Seeing another Star enter while an existing one remains visible immediately gives the next few spins more potential.
I also like that the mechanic is incredibly easy to understand. Stars have values, the values add together and the Stars move right after each spin. There is enough strategy in watching the multiplier develop to hold your attention without requiring a flowchart beside the reels.
The base game can still feel plain when the Stars are not appearing, which prevents me pushing the score much higher. When several of them start travelling together, though, Star Walk becomes considerably better than its old fashioned fruit machine appearance suggests.
Score 7.4/10
Free Spins work because Air Dice has resisted the temptation to abandon the game's best idea once the bonus begins.
The Walking Multiplier remains central, but the longer feature gives it more opportunity to develop. That is particularly appealing when the larger 25 or 50 spin allocations are involved because Stars have time to move through the reels while replacements continue entering behind them.
The Treasure Chest also gives ordinary play another objective and provides an alternative route towards the feature rather than making everything dependent on three Scatters appearing together.
What stops the feature package reaching the 8s is breadth. Star Walk has one genuinely good idea and several supporting mechanics, rather than several equally strong features interacting with one another.
Fortunately, that central idea is good enough that the game does not desperately need another three bonus rounds attached to it.
Score 7.8/10
Star Walk deliberately combines an old school fruit machine with a much more modern multiplier presentation, and the contrast works reasonably well.
The fruit, bells and Sevens are immediately recognisable, while the Stars provide the movement and visual focus that the traditional symbols lack. Contemporary casino coverage describes the game as a modern makeover of the classic slot format, which is a fair summary of what Air Dice is doing here.
The Stars are also easy to follow as they move from reel to reel, which matters because their location and combined values are far more important than elaborate animation.
I would not call the underlying artwork particularly ambitious. Fruit machines have been serving up Sevens and watermelons for decades, and Star Walk is not pretending otherwise.
The Stars give the old fruit bowl some sparkle, but they are still sharing the screen with a watermelon.
Score 7.3/10
The Walking Multiplier is simple enough to explain in one sentence but distinctive enough to give Star Walk a recognisable identity.
I particularly like that the Stars persist through movement rather than remaining Sticky. A Sticky Multiplier would simply sit in one position until something removed it; these Stars have a limited journey across the five reels, which creates a natural lifespan and gives new Stars the opportunity to join them along the way.
Adding the visible values together is equally sensible because it makes overlapping Stars immediately exciting. You do not need a complicated calculation to understand why having three multiplier values on screen is better than having one.
The classic fruit machine setting contributes almost nothing to originality, but that is actually what makes the central mechanic stand out. Air Dice has taken an exceptionally familiar slot format and added one feature that genuinely changes how consecutive spins relate to each other.
It is not a mechanical revolution, but I would remember Star Walk because of how it plays rather than simply because of its title.

Star Walk takes an extremely familiar fruit machine and gives it one mechanic good enough to make the old Sevens and watermelons worth another look.
Multiplier Stars can appear on the reels, add their values to the total win multiplier and then walk one reel to the right on subsequent spins. New Stars can enter behind them, allowing several values to overlap and gradually build a much stronger multiplier.
That is easily the game's strongest idea because it creates continuity between spins without making the rules difficult to follow. A Star landing on the left has a journey ahead of it, and every new Star that appears before it leaves gives the multiplier another opportunity to grow.
Free Spins make particularly good use of that structure. Three Scatters provide the standard route into the bonus, while the Treasure Chest can also contribute towards feature awards of 10, 25 or 50 Free Spins. The larger allocations give the Walking Multipliers plenty of time to develop, which is exactly what the mechanic needs.
The weakness is everything underneath the Stars. Ten paylines and a collection of classic fruit symbols are not offering much mechanical depth on their own, so stretches without useful multiplier activity can feel noticeably quieter.
The most consistently supported specifications put Star Walk at 5x3, 10 paylines, a 7 July 2026 release and 4,000x maximum win. RTP reporting is less consistent across casino configurations, with major sources showing figures from 95% to 95.96%, so the exact implementation can vary.
Air Dice has not tried to reinvent the fruit machine from top to bottom. Instead, it has given the multipliers a pair of legs and let them wander across it.
The fruit stays where it is. The Stars are the ones worth following.
