Rick Doyle's Sunday Best
Today's card presents some interesting opportunities, particularly with The Liffey, who looks well-handicapped at Doncaster. Langstone can also bounce back at a familiar track. Over in Ireland, Folsom Blues at the Curragh appears generously priced given his solid Group 1 form.

Betfred "the Classic Bookmaker" Handicap Stakes

The Liffey 25/1
Sean Levey/Hayley Burton
Live price from Bet365
THE LIFFEY looks an interesting outsider dropping sharply in trip for this competitive 6½f handicap. He has been in much better form than his latest sixth at Kempton suggests, most notably finishing second in a 20-runner handicap at Glorious Goodwood in July, where he travelled strongly and was beaten only three-quarters of a length over 7f. The drop in distance is particularly interesting. He has plenty of previous form over shorter trips, including a 6f win at Dundalk earlier this year, and there is enough speed in his profile to think a strongly-run 6½f could suit him nicely. Sean Levey takes over for the first time and, back on turf after last week's Kempton run, The Liffey looks capable of outrunning his big price.

Betfred City Of Doncaster Handicap Stakes

Langstone 4/1
Hector Crouch/Clive Cox
Live price from 10 Bet
LANGSTONE can put a disappointing Royal Ascot run behind him back at a track where he has already shown his best form. His second in the Silver Bowl previously reads particularly well now, with winner Blue Courvoisier and several of those who finished behind him having progressed considerably since. Clive Cox's three-year-old is already a course-and-distance winner, having beaten the useful King Of Earth here on his seasonal return. Freshened up since Ascot and with conditions likely to suit better, Langstone looks capable of getting back on track.

Folsom Blues 7/1
J M Sheridan/Joseph Patrick O'Brien
Live price from Bet365
FOLSOM BLUES looks overpriced considering he already has Group 1 form at the Curragh, finishing runner-up to Sun Goddess in the Phoenix Stakes last time. Joseph O'Brien's colt was bumped during that race but still finished strongly over six furlongs, suggesting the return to seven should be right up his street. He has improved with each of his four starts and there could be more to come over this trip. Stablemate Monogram has created plenty of excitement after his impressive debut, but he is being asked to make a huge jump in class. Folsom Blues has already proved himself at this level and looks the more interesting one at 9/1.
