About Growing Grandma Dream Drop

Growing Grandma Dream Drop from Relax Gaming is a 2025 release that proves almost anything can become a slot theme if you commit to it hard enough. Rather than treasure hunters, warriors or mythical gods, the star here is an elderly woman sitting comfortably at home surrounded by knitting, cats, medication and, most importantly, a steadily growing collection of false teeth.

Released in August 2025, the game uses a 5x5 grid with 20 paylines, has a headline 94% RTP and offers maximum standard game potential of 5,000x the stake, before the separate Dream Drop progressive jackpots are considered.

The central idea is wonderfully daft but mechanically quite clever. Wild Dentures are collected in a glass beside the reels and gradually increase the potential size of the Wild Grandma. Collect 10 and she can appear as a 2x2 Wild, while reaching 30 allows her to occupy a sizeable 3x3 area. Once Grandma reaches at least 2x2, she can also arrive carrying a random multiplier between 1x and 5x.

Free Spins take the joke considerably further. Grandma becomes a persistent Wild that can continue growing as more Dentures are collected, eventually reaching 5x5 and covering the entire playing area. Every growth stage also adds more Free Spins, so there is a genuine sense of building towards something rather than simply watching a fixed number of bonus spins disappear.

Then there is Dream Drop, Relax Gaming's five tier progressive jackpot system. Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major and Mega prizes sit completely outside the normal 5,000x maximum, giving a game about collecting Grandma's teeth the possibility of producing a genuinely enormous result.

It is difficult not to admire the confidence. Plenty of slots promise a feature that grows. Relax Gaming decided Grandma should do it literally.

Features

Denture Collection (Symbol Collection)

The Denture Collection is the mechanic that drives the base game. Wild Denture Symbols are gathered in a glass beside the reels, with the collection retained at the selected stake level as you continue playing.

Collect 10 Dentures and the Wild Grandma can grow to 2x2. Reach 30 and her maximum base game size increases again to 3x3.

I like this because it gives ordinary spins some persistence. You are not simply waiting for the right symbols to appear on one lucky spin; there is visible progress accumulating beside the reels, and reaching each threshold materially changes what Grandma can do when she next appears.

It also produces one of the more unusual progression meters in slots. Plenty of games ask you to fill a pot with gold. Growing Grandma asks you to fill a glass with dentures and somehow makes that feel perfectly reasonable after about five minutes.

Wild Grandma (Growing Wild)

The Wild Grandma is a Growing Wild that substitutes for regular paying symbols and becomes larger as the Denture Collection progresses.

She begins at 1x1, but can grow to 2x2 and eventually 3x3 during the base game.

This is where the collection mechanic earns its keep. A 1x1 Wild is useful without being remarkable, whereas a 3x3 Grandma occupies nine positions on a 25 position board and becomes considerably harder for winning paylines to avoid.

The progression is also visually obvious. You do not need to inspect a meter to understand that you have improved the feature when Grandma suddenly takes up a sizeable chunk of the television.

Multiplier Grandma (Multiplier Wild)

Once Grandma has grown to 2x2 or larger, she can appear with a random 1x to 5x multiplier attached. Wins involving the Wild Grandma are multiplied by the displayed value.

This is a particularly good companion to the Growing Wild mechanic because you are improving both coverage and potential value.

A large Wild already has a much better chance of becoming involved in several winning paylines. Giving that same block a 5x multiplier means the Denture Collection is doing considerably more than simply making Grandma easier to spot.

By the time she is 3x3 with a decent multiplier attached, Grandma has gone from quietly knitting beside the reels to taking over most of the television.

Free Spins

Landing the Wild Grandma together with at least three Wild Dentures triggers 5 Free Spins.

Five sounds particularly mean until you see how the feature develops.

Grandma becomes persistent during Free Spins and carries her existing size into the bonus. Dentures collected during the feature can then make her grow further, with each successful upgrade also awarding 3 Additional Free Spins.

That is much better than simply starting with fifteen ordinary spins. The small initial allocation gives you an obvious objective from the first spin: find enough Dentures to make Grandma bigger before the counter runs out.

Sticky Grandma (Sticky Growing Wild)

During Free Spins, the Wild Grandma becomes Sticky and remains active on the grid while moving around the playing area. Additional Dentures allow her to grow through increasingly large stages, eventually reaching 5x5.

This is easily the game's best mechanic.

A persistent 2x2 or 3x3 Wild already provides useful coverage, but getting Grandma to 4x4 means she occupies 16 of the game's 25 positions. Reach 5x5 and she is effectively taken over the entire screen.

It gives the feature a very clear destination. You are not trying to increase an abstract meter from level three to level four; you are trying to make Grandma so enormous there is nowhere left for anybody else to sit.

Grandma Growth (Free Spins Progression)

Collecting Dentures during Free Spins progresses Grandma through her remaining growth stages.

Each successful upgrade adds 3 Free Spins, while Grandma can develop through 3x3, 4x4 and finally 5x5 depending on her starting size and the number of additional Dentures collected.

This interaction is what makes the bonus work so well for me. Growing Grandma gives you better Wild coverage while simultaneously extending the amount of time you have to benefit from it.

A successful bonus therefore improves in two directions at once. Grandma becomes stronger and you get longer to use her.

Dream Drop (Progressive Jackpot)

Dream Drop is Relax Gaming's networked Progressive Jackpot feature and can trigger randomly before a qualifying base game spin.

The jackpot round moves onto a dedicated five column setup where Dream Drop symbols can fill the columns. Completing the relevant column awards one of five progressive prizes: Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major or Mega.

The Mega is the obvious headline attraction, with the Dream Drop network capable of producing prizes reaching into seven figures.

Dream Drop is largely separate from the Grandma mechanics, but that is not necessarily a problem. The underlying slot has enough identity of its own that the progressive feels like an additional opportunity rather than the only reason the game exists.

Growing Grandma Dream Drop has one of those progression systems that gives ordinary spins more purpose than the relatively simple 20 payline setup initially suggests.

The Denture Collection is the key. Knowing that every useful Denture is moving Grandma towards a larger Wild gives the base game a longer term objective, and there is a noticeable difference between playing with the prospect of a little 1x1 Grandma and knowing she can now arrive as a 3x3 block.

I also like how easy the progression is to understand. Collect teeth, Grandma gets bigger. Bigger Grandma covers more positions and can carry stronger multipliers. There is plenty happening mathematically, but the idea presented to the player could not be much simpler.

Free Spins are where the gameplay becomes considerably better. Starting with only five spins creates immediate pressure to find Dentures, while every successful growth stage both improves Grandma and gives you more time. A bonus that starts modestly can therefore become substantially stronger if the collection begins cooperating.

The 94% RTP is the obvious drawback. Dream Drop takes part of the theoretical return, but 94% still feels lean for players more interested in Growing Grandma itself than chasing a progressive jackpot.

Mechanically, though, there is a lot to like.

The Free Spins feature works because almost everything you are doing contributes towards making the same central mechanic better.

Grandma starts at the size you have already earned, becomes Sticky and can continue growing. Every additional stage improves her coverage and adds another three spins, while larger versions can carry multipliers reaching 5x.

That creates proper escalation. A 2x2 Grandma at the beginning of the feature feels useful; a 4x4 Grandma later on feels dominant; getting her to 5x5 effectively turns the entire grid Wild.

I much prefer this to bonuses that introduce half a dozen unrelated modifiers. Growing Grandma knows what its best idea is and keeps developing it.

Dream Drop then adds a completely different layer through its five progressive jackpot levels. It is not closely integrated with the Grandma progression, but the main feature is strong enough that it does not need the jackpot to prop it up.

The only thing keeping this below 9 is that the journey can be rather dependent on Dentures appearing at the right time. A Free Spins feature that refuses to grow Grandma can feel much less exciting than the specification promises.

When it works, though, it is excellent.

Visuals & Presentation

Growing Grandma has considerably more personality than another slot about an old woman sitting in her living room really ought to have.

The retro television framing is a great touch, while the armchair, knitting, medication, cats and household clutter create a cosy environment that is completely different from the temples, vaults and fantasy kingdoms filling most casino lobbies. Contemporary reviews have similarly highlighted the humour and domestic presentation as one of the game's strongest qualities.

Grandma herself is obviously the star, and watching her physically increase in size gives the progression far more impact than simply changing a number beside the reels. By the time she reaches 4x4 or 5x5, the visual joke and the gameplay mechanic have become the same thing.

That is exactly what good slot presentation should do.

The game does not need cinematic dragons flying around the screen because watching an elderly woman gradually become too large for her own television is memorable enough.

Originality

8.8/10

Growing Grandma Dream Drop has a very clear identity, and that is not simply because somebody decided false teeth would make good collectable symbols.

The Denture Collection makes thematic sense within the game's ridiculous little world while also providing genuine persistent progression. More importantly, the reward for collecting them is immediately visible because Grandma herself gets physically larger.

That idea becomes even better during Free Spins. Keeping the enlarged Grandma persistent and allowing her to grow until she occupies the entire 5x5 grid gives the feature an obvious journey from beginning to end.

There is also something refreshing about the theme. Relax Gaming could have attached exactly the same growing Wild mechanic to a dragon, monster or ancient god and produced something far less memorable. Building it around Grandma, her dentures and a cosy living room gives the mechanics a sense of humour without getting in their way.

Dream Drop itself does not add much originality because it is an established network used across numerous Relax Gaming titles. The underlying slot does not need it for originality points anyway.

Growing Grandma is weird for a reason, and the weirdness actually improves the game.

Final Summary

Growing Grandma Dream Drop is one of those slots where a ridiculous theme turns out to be hiding a genuinely good game mechanic.

The Denture Collection gives the base game useful persistence, with every collected set gradually increasing the potential size of the Wild Grandma. Once she reaches 2x2 or 3x3, her presence on the reels becomes substantially more useful, particularly when a random multiplier of up to 5x joins her.

Free Spins take the idea much further. Grandma becomes persistent, additional Dentures can increase her size and every successful growth stage adds another three spins. Get far enough and she can reach 5x5, effectively occupying the entire grid. It is a simple progression to understand but a very satisfying one to watch develop.

The presentation deserves plenty of credit too. Relax Gaming has managed to make knitting, cats and false teeth considerably more entertaining than they sound, while Grandma's increasing size turns the central visual joke into the game's most important mechanic.

The 94% RTP is the main weakness and noticeably less attractive than I would like to see, even allowing for the Dream Drop contribution. The standard game is capped at 5,000x, although Dream Drop adds the possibility of much larger progressive prizes through its Rapid, Midi, Maxi, Major and Mega jackpots.

That earns Growing Grandma our +0.2 Jackpot Modifier, but the important point is that there would still be a good slot here without Dream Drop. The jackpot adds another reason to play rather than disguising an ordinary game underneath it.

Grandma starts the game quietly knitting in her chair. Give her enough dentures and eventually you will need a bigger television.

Overall Rating: 8.6/10.
