Barry Hill's Daily Tips - Wednesday

Barry Hill gives us six tips from racing at Nottingham, Musselburgh, Newbury & Worcester

So if you backed my selections yesterday you would have been on the edge of your seat  with the first three romping home., with the highlight being  DASHING DONKEY who I tipped up at 9/2. I hope you got in early as they backed it off the board.

Wednesday offers us a decent days racing and I've managed to give you tips from 4 of the 5 UK meetings with my highlight being PEMBROKSHIRE in the 8.15 at Musselburgh.  Im certain he can return to winning ways especially in the drop of class. Good luck!

INTERTWINED - 14/1 (E/W)

Post Rider led from start to finish to secure her breakthrough win at Brighton, but she might not get the same advantage this time. It could be wiser to back one of the less exposed handicap newcomers. INTERTWINED fits this profile, and if she replicates the form that saw her finish third on her Newbury debut, rather than her subsequent two performances, a mark of 66 could be lenient. Improved showings are expected from Marianglas and Yellow Lemons, while Delicacy, Little Heron, and Notre Dame also merit consideration.

HICKORY - 5/2

HICKORY comes into this race after two promising performances this season, the latest being a fourth-place finish in last month's Victoria Cup. Dropping in class and maintaining the same rating, the six-year-old is well-positioned to capitalize on this opportunity. Pearle D'or, who trailed behind Hickory as the favorite at Ascot, has since improved with a better showing at Doncaster and should not be overlooked. The shortlist also includes Be Frank, Game Set, and Sterling Knight.

LAURA BAY - 5/2

LAURA BAY improved significantly on her handicap debut, winning here over 1m2f. The daughter of New Bay appeared to benefit from a firmer surface and is likely to appreciate the added distance of a couple more furlongs. Rakki delivered his best performance to date, finishing third behind two promising types at Windsor, and must be considered a strong contender. Al Khawaneej River and the handicap debutant North Winterfell round out the shortlist.

6:50 Worcester

SCRUM DIDDLY - 3/1

SCRUM DIDDLY made a successful return from a break by securing his first victory over fences at Southwell last month. The six-year-old is expected to continue improving, especially with favorable conditions. Morning Spirit regained form by finishing as runner-up in his latest outing and should be competitive once more. Among the others, Jessie Lightfoot, One More Fleurie, and Tiger Orchid stand out as the most appealing contenders.

7:55 Worcester

VOCITO - EVS

VOCITO made a very promising debut for the Olly Murphy stable, finishing just a length behind the winner in second place at Perth last month. With a rating of 106, the six-year-old sets the standard and may only need to replicate that effort to secure a win. His main competition could come from Reach For The Moon, a Group 3 winner on the Flat, who deserves another chance after finishing a distant fourth in his hurdling debut at Sedgefield, where he was reported to be lame. Jacobs Acre is also a contender, completing the shortlist.

8:15 Musselburgh

PEMBROKESHIRE - 5/1

Scarriff had an impressive win over a mile here earlier this month, but her strong market presence and a 10lb higher mark might reduce her value. This makes PEMBROKESHIRE an appealing option. He showed promise with a third-place finish over 7f at Ayr last month and continued to perform well with a sixth-place finish in a higher grade recently. Now dropping in class and off a declining mark, he is poised for a strong performance. Recent Catterick winner Patontheback is also worth noting.
