Daily Horse Racing Tips - Friday

Barry Hill gives us six tips from racing at Chester, Goodwood, Market Rasen & Sandown.

3:25 Chester

Pure Homes Handicap

REBAATT - 11/4

REBAATT showed promising improvement in his first handicap race, finishing just half a length behind the winner at Newmarket. Considering the winner has since won again, a 2lb rise in the weights might underestimate the quality of William Haggas' three-year-old's performance. Amancio has been consistently reliable this year and is expected to deliver another solid race. However, Hutchence could pose a greater threat, as his opening mark of 76 seems reasonable for the expensive son of Frankel.

4:35 Chester

Close Brothers Handicap (Div II)

MR SQUIRES - 5/2

Despite being assigned the widest draw, MR SQUIRES delivered an impressive performance when winning over 7f at Wolverhampton last time. A 5lb penalty shouldn't hinder his chances if he maintains that form. Star Shield, who was a close second at Ripon last week, should be a strong contender from stall two. Meanwhile, Daisy Roots has been running consistently well in recent defeats and appears to have solid place claims.

5:00 Sandown

Racing & Music Nights At Sandown Park Handicap (Jockey Club Grassroots Stayers Series Qualifier)

ALLONSY - 7/4

Cock And Bull delivered another strong performance when narrowly beaten at Wolverhampton last time. However, a 5lb rise in the weights tempers enthusiasm slightly, making it worth considering ALLONSY to break her maiden on her sixth attempt. Ralph Beckett's filly has performed admirably in defeat several times and appears ready for this increased trip. Night Horn has struggled in his four starts so far, but Andrew Balding's colt is bred for better things and might improve with this stiffer stamina test.

6:40 Goodwood

William Hill Daily Boost Handicap

MILLER SPIRIT - 5/2

MILLER SPIRIT may not have the most straightforward form, but he showed his quality by pulling off a surprise victory over 1m4f here last week. The four-year-old is unpenalized for that win, making him effectively 3lb well-in and a strong contender. Clan Chieftain rebounded from a lackluster return to form by finishing a close second at Salisbury, posing a significant threat. Joining the list of challengers is Bath winner Enochdhu, who will benefit from any rainfall, along with the consistently dependable Turner Girl.

7:00 Market Rasen

Lincs Loos Handicap Hurdle

ITTACK BLUE - 5/4

ITTACK BLUE led from start to finish to justify his short odds and secure a double over this track and trip last month. Now making his handicap debut, Dan Skelton's six-year-old appears to have significant potential for further improvement, making him hard to oppose. Chaos Control performed respectably, finishing fourth in a class 3 event over an extended 2m4f on the same card. With a 2lb lower rating, he could be a contender here. Parvos also has a chance to compete for the minor honors.

8:20 Goodwood

William Hill Epic Value Amateur Jockeys' Handicap

DREAMROCKER - 11/4

DREAMROCKER impressed when finishing in the frame in this class over 7f at York last month and she runs off the same mark. Ed Walker's four-year-old, making just her third start in a handicap, is expected to show further improvement, making her a strong choice. Magical Merlin, who finished third at Brighton recently, is worth considering as he tackles a mile for the first time. Meanwhile, New Heights continues to be on a manageable mark and remains in the mix.
