1024 Sevens is Apparat Gaming's modernised take on the classic fruit machine and the successor to its earlier 40 Sevens and 100 Sevens titles. Released on 30 April 2025, it moves away from traditional paylines and onto a larger 5x4 grid with 1,024 Ways to Win. Apparat officially lists medium high volatility at 4/5, a maximum exposure of 2,000x the stake and a headline RTP of 96.20%, although configurations can fall considerably lower.
Do not let the 1,024 number make it sound more complicated than it is. This remains an extremely straightforward slot. Cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, horseshoes, bells and big red Sevens fill the reels, while a Diamond provides the Wild and Stars trigger Free Games. Matching symbols simply need to connect across adjacent reels from left to right rather than following predetermined paylines.
The main attraction is the combination of Stacked Symbols and Stacked Wilds. All regular symbols can appear in large blocks, while Diamond Wilds can stack across reels. Free Games then increase the amount of Wilds in play, giving those 1,024 Ways considerably more opportunity to connect. Three, four or five Stars trigger 10, 15 or 50 Free Games respectively.
There is something I quite like about Apparat's approach here. Plenty of developers would have called a slot "1024 Sevens" and then surrounded those Sevens with Collectors, mystery meters, multipliers and three different jackpots. Apparat has largely resisted that temptation.
Instead, it has taken the humble fruit machine, made the grid bigger and given the fruit considerably more ways to bump into each other.
1024 Sevens is better than its extremely traditional appearance initially suggests.
Moving from fixed paylines to 1,024 Ways gives the Stacked Symbols considerably more purpose, while Stacked Wilds can influence numerous winning combinations simultaneously. It is a sensible collection of mechanics rather than a random assortment of features.
But we need to keep the scoring disciplined.
There is not much else happening. No persistent progression, no evolving grid and relatively little to follow between Free Games triggers. The official maximum exposure of only 2,000x is also fairly restrained compared with many modern releases, although we are not directly scoring a slot according to its maximum win.
It is good straightforward gameplay rather than anything exceptional.

The Free Games feature makes good use of the game's central mechanic.
Awarding 10, 15 or 50 Free Games provides meaningful variation depending on how many Scatters trigger the feature, while the increased Wild presence makes the Stacked Symbols and 1,024 Ways more effective.
What it does not provide is much depth.
Compare this with Total Eclipse Supreme, where the bonus develops through multiple grids and eventually introduces several interacting modifiers. 1024 Sevens essentially says: "Here are some Free Spins and more Wilds."
Perfectly enjoyable. Not an 8 out of 10 feature package.
Score: 6.8/10
Apparat has polished the traditional fruit machine presentation nicely.
The larger 5x4 grid gives everything more room, the symbols are exceptionally clear and the Diamond Wild stands out nicely against the classic fruit imagery. Independent descriptions also highlight the clean presentation and animations attached to wins and important symbols.
Artistically, however, we are looking at fruit, bells, horseshoes, diamonds and Sevens.
Again.
That is not necessarily a criticism of the design decision. Players who enjoy traditional slots probably do not want Apparat replacing their cherries with a three headed space wizard simply to earn another point from us for visuals.
But our rating has to reflect what is actually there.
Score: 6.7/10
The 1,024 Ways structure gives this considerably more identity than another 10 or 20 payline fruit machine.
It is also a genuine evolution of Apparat's Sevens series. Apparat itself identifies 1024 Sevens as the successor to 40 Sevens and 100 Sevens, with the Ways to Win structure being the obvious mechanical change.
Beyond that, though, nearly everything is familiar.
Fruit symbols, Stacked Symbols, Stacked Wilds and Free Games with additional Wilds are all well established slot mechanics. Even 1,024 Ways has been used extensively elsewhere in the industry.
So I would give Apparat credit for modernising its own formula, but not pretend it has invented something new.

1024 Sevens is a sensible modernisation of the traditional fruit slot rather than an attempt to bury a simple game underneath a mountain of features.
Moving onto a 5x4 grid with 1,024 Ways to Win gives the large Stacked Symbols considerably more opportunity to connect, while Stacked Diamond Wilds provide the main source of excitement during ordinary spins. Free Games then strengthen exactly the same formula by increasing the amount of Wilds in play, with five Scatters providing a particularly generous 50 spins.
There is no escaping how simple it is. The feature package is thin, the fruit machine presentation is extremely familiar and there is little mechanical originality outside the switch to 1,024 Ways.
But simplicity is clearly deliberate here. Apparat has taken its established Sevens formula and modernised the bit that matters without stuffing the reels with features simply to make the specification sheet longer.
It turns out there are 1,024 ways to line up a Seven, but still only so many ways to make a fruit machine look new.
